NHS Tayside has now considered your request dated 16 September 2020.

NHS Tayside wishes to advise you that there are exemptions applicable to the information requested.  Please refer to the exemptions section of this correspondence.

Question One

Question Two

NHS Tayside received 19 ventilators from the Department of Health and the Scottish Government to assist in the Covid-19 response.

Question Three

NHS Tayside does not hold information in a central location around how many patients received treatment for Covid-19 by use of a ventilator. To compile the requested information would require a manual exercise to extract, review and verify information from patient records and create a new record with this information.

Question Five

No Post Mortem’s were carried out to prove people died directly from Covid-19.

Question Six

Data and definitions of Covid-19 related deaths are published by National Records of Scotland and is available on their website. There is a breakdown by health board and local authority area available within this published information.

Question Seven

NHS Tayside had 19 adult ventilators prior to Covid-19.
