Question One

Question Two
NHS Tayside received 19 ventilators from the Department of Health and the Scottish Government to assist in the Covid-19 response.
Question Three
NHS Tayside does not hold information in a central location around how many patients received treatment for Covid-19 by use of a ventilator. To compile the requested information would require a manual exercise to extract, review and verify information from patient records and create a new record with this information.

No Post Mortem’s were carried out to prove people died directly from Covid-19.

Data and definitions of Covid-19 related deaths are published by National Records of Scotland and is available on their website. There is a breakdown by health board and local authority area available within this published information.

NHS Tayside had 19 adult ventilators prior to Covid-19.
