Number of COVID deaths in Highlands
With reference to your request for information dated 20 November 2020 regarding the above, please find below your questions and our responses:-
- I am making this Freedom of Information Request regarding how many deaths by Covid, not with Covid, but from Covid, has the Highland Region endured.
Deaths registered in Scotland where COVID-19 was mentioned on the death certificate are reported weekly by the National Records of Scotland (NRS). The latest report includes deaths registered to the end of week 49 of 2020 (ending the 6 December). There have been 131 deaths registered of NHS Highland residents mentioning COVID-19 on the death certificate to date. NRS weekly figures for 2020 are provisional and subject to change.
